The highest peaks

The smallest region of Italy boasts numerous particularities. Beautiful mountains characterise the natural landscape of Valle d’Aosta and its tributary valleys. Internationally known for its bizarre peak is the Monte Cervino and mighty Mont Blanc is the highest summit in all of Europe.

Bordering France and the German and French-speaking areas of Switzerland, Aosta features two official languages, Italian and French, even though the true native language is French-Provençal.

The valleys and mountains of the Western Alps render Aosta a popular destination in winter and summer alike, especially with hikers, climbers and mountain bikers.
