Rosengarten Latemar Winter 2011

Catinaccio - Latemar

The legend of King Laurin renders the mountain world south-west of the Dolomites particularly attractive.

When in the evening a gentle red atmosphere enlightens the Catinaccio mountains, you can admire the stony rose gardens of mystical King Laurin flowering in a special red colour. Val d’Ega and Val di Tires provide relaxing mountain holidays in summer and winter alike. While summer in the valleys begins rather early (April), it is only in June that the heat of summer reaches even higher altitudes.

Then, in late October/early November summer finally says good bye. Earth is taking a rest now and sparkling white snow covers mountains and pastures. Whether you prefer hiking, climbing or one of the numerous other winter sport activities - there will be something for everyone. And the majestic Latemar and Catinaccio mountains combine to create the most stunning mountain scenery.
