Südtirols Süden 2011

South of South Tyrol

From the very first moment you will feel the gentle Mediterranean climate mingling with the harsher conditions of the Alps.

At a very early stage, in late February or the beginnings of March, numerous sun beams are already shining on the people’s noses. Can you feel the southern spirit in this region? Both culture and cuisine seem to be full of this spirit and enthusiasm, whether you think at the Egetmann carneval parade in Termeno or numerous delicious specialities.

The sunny south of South Tyrol also boasts the famous South Tyrolean Wine Road, stretching from Nalles, Terlano and Andriano to Salorno. Numerous wine-growing areas such as Caldaro and Termeno are waiting for you. Lake Caldaro and the small and big Lake of Monticolo in Appiano are the ideal place on hot summer days. Lake Caldaro is, by the way, the warmest lake of the Alps.
