Ultental Winter 2011

Val d’Ultimo

Stretching from the Passo dell Stelvio Nature Park, along the banks of the Valsura river to the village of Lana, beautiful Val d’Ultimo boasts a length of 40 km.

Val d’Ultimo includes the villages of S. Pancrazio, S. Valburga, Pracupola, San Nicolò and S. Gertrude. Alpine pastures and a stunning view of the Ortles mountains combine and attract numerous visitors. From the very first moment you will feel that tradition is still of utmost importance in Val d’Ultimo. Old farmhouses with wooden shingle-roofs, flowering cottage gardens and colourful pastures characterise the local landscape.

Hikers may look forward to 700 km of marked hiking trails and numerous destinations such as the Zoggler reservoir or the church of St. Helena. And after a long day of hiking you may relax in the swimming pool of S. Valburga. In winter, the skiing area of Schwemmalm attracts skiers, snowboarders and hikers alike. At an altitude of 2,600 m you will experience a stunning view of the 3,000 m high Ortles mountains.
