San Nicolò
Already in 1973, the Ulten Valley Museum opened its doors - today it introduces the visitor to the farming life and the rich variety of local animal species such as bears or golden eagles.
Altitude: 1,256 m asl
San Nicolò is generally known as the most beautiful village of the whole Val d’Ultimo. Agriculture is one of the important sources of income here, and there might be a reason for it: a rich green natural landscape surrounds the friendly hamlet of San Nicolò. Colourful pastures, large woods and traditional farmhouses combine and create the quaint atmosphere of long passed times.
The local church dates back to the 14th century and boasts a beautiful winged altar. Have a look at its wooden figures and the neo-Gothic style! Slightly above you will find the Thurnerhof Farm with some mysterious stony pictures.
