Andreas Hofer - this is the name of the most legendary freedom fighter all over Tyrol. He was the leader when in 1809 the Tyroleans so bitterly fought against Napoleon and the French sovereignty. Soon after he was captured and shot without mercy in Mantua. And this brave man was born in San Leonardo in Passiria. Today, his birthplace hosts a unique museum, telling visitors the fascinating story of legendary Andreas Hofer.
