Malles

Including the villages Burgusio, Laces, Planol, Piavenna, Clusio, Slingia, Tarces and Ultimo-Alsago, the beautiful holiday resort of Malles is the second largest municipality of South Tyrol.

In summer, the sunny plateau of the Watles mountain towering above Malles turns into a true paradise for hikers. Designated hiking trails will take you to the most attractive destinations, boasting a stunning panoramic view of the entire Upper Val Venosta basin. And even paragliders will find ideal conditions.

Malles, however, is also rich in culture and art treasures. Have a look at the Carolingian frescos of the St. Benedict Church and visit the Marienberg Monastery, the highest Benedictine abbey of Europe.

Winter turns the Watles mountain into the ideal skiing area for families. Its wide ski runs are especially popular with carvers and the fabulous run down to the valley is a special highlight. Slingia is the perfect venue for all cross-country skiers. But also ski touring and snow shoeing are provided. And don’t miss the traditional torch skiing tours on the Watles!
