Riva di Tures
At the bottom of the high Collalto mountain (3,435 m asl) you will find the friendly holiday resort of Riva di Tures.
Altitude: 1,600 m asl
If you follow the road from Valle Aurina to tributary Valle Riva and continue along the river you will finally reach Riva di Tures. And here you will also find the three stunning Riva waterfalls with huge masses of water cascading down the rocky walls. Riva di Tures is one of those South Tyrolean villages boasting a very high geographical position. Here, at the heart of the mountains, you will find the ideal place for mountaineering, hiking, touring or climbing.
Cross-country skiers can look forward to one of the longest cross-country runs of the entire valley. And the Swiss stone pines of Monte Covoni boast the highest altitude all over the Eastern Alps. By the way: Did you know that the term Riva derives from the Latin “rius” or “rivus” and means “small rivulets”? Discover this unique natural scenery!
