Rafting is a sport that promises adventure and challenges as well as the most beautiful natural landscapes. And it is a sport that needs mountains and wild impetuous rivers and, thus, perfectly fits into the Alpine scenery of Europe.
Moreover, it is a sport that promotes team spirit, mutual commitment and unique friendships! A group of 4-12 persons utilizes a raft to navigate a river. Usually it is done on whitewater or such degrees of difficulty to thrill and excite the raft passengers. Safety predominates and personal expertise or the presence of a guide is a must.
Rafting is offered in every Alpine country:
in the Upper Allgäu region, Berchtesgadener Land
Highly popular are rafting tours on the Lech, one of the few unspoilt rivers in the Alps or on the Inn river (from Imst to Haiming) (pic: rafting in East Tyrol).
Enjoy whitewater rafting on South Tyrol’s rivers such as the Rienz, Eisack or Ahr in Val Pusteria; even family rafting is offered on some calm stretches.
on the Ticino, Sarine, Rhone or Rheuss river
in the region of Provence, e.g. Verdon
The river Soca guarantees plenty of whitewater action; Krka, Kolpa and other calm-water rivers are ideal for family rafting or excursions over several days.
