Allgäu (Germany) lies in the southern region of Bavarian Swabia.

The northern foothills of the Alps provide numerous tourism highlights. The area surrounding Oberstdorf and Füssen boasts the eastern part of Lake Bodensee, enchanting Neuschwanstein Castle, the ruin of Falkenstein Castle, the adventurous gorge of Breitachklamm, the mountain ranges of Grünten and Hochgrat, the origins of the Iller river and the impetuous Scheidegg waterfalls (pic: Lake Hopfensee).

Even in winter, Allgäu features a number of highlights, such as the winter sports area Riedberger Horn.
