The charming town of Igls is actually a part of the city of Innsbruck and is particularly known for hosting the 1964 and 1976 Winter Olympic Games.

Situated on a sunny plateau south of Innsbruck, and thus close to a big city but boasting a stunning natural landscape, Igls offers its hikers everything they can wish for. Countless hiking trails lead you from the local Patscherkofel mountain to the highest Alpine garden in Austria. Have a look at numerous Alpine plants originating in the most different regions and countries of the world on an area of 1.5 hectares. Services, however, also include further sport activities such as tennis, golf, bathing lakes, riding arenas, squash or Nordic Walking. And after a long day of hiking, the local Cure Park and Kneipp facilities provide an oasis of recreation and relaxation.

In winter, the Patscherkofel cable car renders Igls a popular holiday destination, with lots of fun and lots of choice. The Olympic bobsleigh and toboggan run as well as the exhilarating Heiligwasser toboggan run attract countless visitors every year. Moreover, Igls hosts numerous international competitions. And internationally tested and approved is also the skiing area on the Patscherkofel. 18 km of ski runs as well as a ski school, ski rental and a ski kindergarten promise relaxing hours in the middle of sparkling white snow.
